1.Theydon’tworkintheircomfortzone.Whatisyourcomfortzone?Yourcomfortzoneisdefinedas“Apsychologicalstateinwhichapersonfeelsfamiliar,atease,incontrol,andexperienceslowanxiety.”Whenyougetoutsideofyourcomfortzone,itdoesn’tmeanthatyoushouldstriveforaconstantstateofanxietyandstress.Itsimplymeansthat,inordertogrow,youshouldtrynewthingsandexpandyourhorizons.Thereasonwearecomfortableinourcomfortzoneisbecausewearenottakingriskswhenweareinthisstate.Whenweliveinourcomfortzones,wearelivinglifelikehamstersonawheel,goingaroundandaroundinaconstantcycle,butgoingnowhereinourlives.Famousmotivationalspeaker,LesBrown,saiditbestwith,“Ifyouputyourselfinapositionwhereyouhavetostretchoutsideyourcomfortzone,thenyouareforcedtoexpandyourconsciousness.”2.Theydon’tdowithoutfirstlearning.Learningiswhatwedobest.Thegreatestthingaboutlearningisthebenefitthatwereceiveinallaspectsofourlives.Successfulpeoplestrivetocontinuelearningnewthingsandexpandingonthingsthattheyalreadyknow.Ifwestoplearning,thentheonlythingwecandoissettlewithwhatwealreadyknow;ifwesettleforthat,thenthereisnowaytoexpandourminds.Expansionisessentialonthepathtosuccess.Sinceourmindsrequirelearningforexpansion,wemustneverstopseekingnewknowledge.ImaginewhatwouldhavehappenedifBillGatesstoppedlearningandgrowing.Theinternetwouldbemuchmoreprimitivethanitistoday.Butbecausehefollowedhisdreamsandcontinuedgrowing,hefoundedoneofthebiggestcompaniesintheworldanditisstillflourishingandgrowingtoday.3.Theydon’tfearaskingforadvice.RichardBranson,afamousentrepreneur,stated,“Whenyouneedtomakeharddecisions,beingabletodiscussyourideaswithentrepreneursandbusinessleaderswhohavesolvedsimilarproblemscanmakeallthedifference.”Askingforadviceisnotalwayseasy.Wethinkthatwehavethesameopportunityaseveryoneelseandsometimesfeelinsecureanddependent,sowedecidenottoaskforadvice,andtrytofigureitoutourselves.Butthiscouldbegreatlylimitingusfromreachingourfullpotential,becausetheadvicewemightbeseekingcouldbesomethingthatsomebodyknowsverywell.
